Waterloo Region – GrandLinq has advised the Region of Waterloo that due to the rain expected today, they will need to make adjustments to their final asphalt paving schedule in UpTown Waterloo.
The weather delay means that final asphalt paving on Caroline (Erb to Allen) and Allen (Caroline to King) originally scheduled to take place today (June 6) and Wednesday (June 7) will not occur this week. A new schedule for this work will be announced once arrangements have been made with area businesses regarding access and deliveries.
Final asphalt paving on King (Allen to the light rail transit crossing) and King (Allen to Union) is expected to proceed later this week.
During final asphalt paving operations, GrandLinq requires a full road closure for 24 hours. Crews are expected to pave the road during the day and stripe the road at night. All work is subject to construction constraints and weather conditions. Final asphalt paving can not take place in wet or humid conditions.
